Access Control

This module ensures efficient and secure way to control access to applications and only authorized users gain access to patient data. There are business and regulatory requirements for protecting privacy and ensuring the security of patient health information. This module helps hospitals to comply with these requirements.

This follows the industry standard Role Based Access Control mechanism in controlling the access to information based on user’s function and role within the hospital. This simplifies user and access control administration process and can be integrated easily with existing access control solutions

Scheduler

Any hospital would want to use their resources in the most optimal manner. Effective scheduling is an important factor in answering this need. The module helps hospital in effectively scheduling patients, doctors, staffs, rooms (emergency, ICU, OR, wards) and supplies.

Scheduling module answers the need to effectively using the precious resources of the hospital. No more stranded doctors with wrong patient, no more confusion in the OR for missing people or supplies, no more empty rooms when there is a long queue of patient waiting outside. Billing & Insurance

The insurance coverage in India has been rapidly increasing and hence the need for cashless payments in the hospitals. This module makes sure that hospital always have enough documents to get the claims accepted by the payors. In the paper world there is a fair chance of 'loosing' documents which in turn means lost money. A critical module for the hospitals to make sure that they get 100% collection from the payors.

Charting (Forms & Flow sheet)

This module is specifically targeted for the nurses' need to continuously chart the patient data. It takes direct inputs from devices and hence nurses do not need spend time watching the medical devices. It also, presents data for several patients on the nursing station. No more grappling with loose papers and the fear of loosing them.

This module also makes available patient data for review by the physicians at different point of care within a visit and also across visit. Due to electronic form of the charts the hospital need not block real state space to just store paper records. The same space can be used for more productive use

Registration & Admission

The registration module helps the user to register the patient one time and reuse these records effectively across all visits to the hospital. The registration records are mainly patient demographic and insurance data. The admission module is used every time the patient needs to make an inpatient visit. This module also leverages registration data and makes available all data collected at this stage for care in the later stages of the visit.

Both these modules are set in a way that it reduces the time taken in the admission process. A major pain point for both hospitals and the patient! These modules also set foundation for patient data to be easily available across different stages of care and also across visit. At this stage, payor data is also collected which improves the guarantee to the patient in terms of realizing the payment

Orders- (Computerized Provider Order Entry - CPOE)

It is a time taking period to write orders for medication, lab tests and scans with all possible specifications. This module provides with packaged template that doctors and nurses can use to write their orders in few clicks. The module also gives your doctor the capability to review and sign the orders remotely from their mobile devices. So, no more asking your doctors to rush in and minimal waiting time before nurses can get the orders signed off and fulfill the orders for the patient

Medical Administration Record (MAR)

A module that helps nurses in keeping record of all medications that gets administered on the patient. This when working together with the messaging module sends reminder to shift nurse if there are any overdue medication. There is no need for the nurses to carry their scribble diary and hence avoid risk of wrong dose and drug getting administered to a patient.

Doctors can review the medication administration record for a patient. They can also repeat/modify/cancel any of these medications by a single click.

Image Viewer and Review

This module is targeted for radiologist. They can review the images and write their reports in a very efficient manner. One of the biggest advantages here is that they need not be at the device where the scan happens. The images are sent electronically to their offices where they can review images, write their report and save it to the patient record.

Image Viewer sub-module is also targeted for physicians to view the related or interested images along with radiology reports and rest of the patient history.

Clinical Decision Support

This module works together with other support modules like patient history, workflow and clinical practice guidelines. It helps you implement published or your own clinical practice guidelines. Any deviation on these guidelines will send messages to concerned stakeholders and make sure that all exceptions are documented. It also helps you to keep a watch on all selected signs of patient and sends you alerts when these signs go outside 'normal' limits for any follow up care

Workflow

This module helps in automating and assisting in the management of tasks and the flow of work-items from one task to another. They encompass a number of functions like authorization, authentication, scheduling, monitoring, event processing, queues, prioritization, escalation, load balancing, task termination, auditing etc.

This module helps the entire Charak suite of product in overcoming the trap of working like a departmental solution and limited workflow coverage. This in turn helps hospitals in driving operational efficiencies across department and process boundaries. This module provides means to manage hospital processes so that the right information is made available to the right individual at the right time.

Emergency Scheduler

In many trauma departments in the hospital there is always shortage of hospital resources and there is always a dilemma on which patient to be attended first. This module answers this issue by building a structured process. First, categorizing of patients are done in to 5 categories of varying emergency based on their clinical state and then are scheduled accordingly

Clinical Practice Guidelines & Protocol

This module brings in the capability to store standard or self developed clinical practices guidelines. The guidelines are very useful to make sure that repeating tasks are performed in a consistent way and hence maintain the quality of care. The doctors would want to always use the latest techniques of the treatment but rapid inflow of research makes it challenging for them to implement them in their practice. Using this module the clinical administrators in the hospital can easily add new findings to the system in a continuous way

Following the standard clinical practice guidelines also make sure that the entire care plan is built around a legally accepted framework and keeps hospital and its player from any avoidable litigation

Clinical Content

A critical support module to all other clinical modules of Charak suite of products. With Charak suite of products you get forms developed to your needs. This module also include drug data bank which provides you list of all drugs, their interactions and counteractions. These interactions are critical when writing medication orders. The drug data bank in this module also helps choose lower price brands for poor patients

Configuration

This module helps the users to configure the application with the intended settings. Each hospital is unique and may like to use create/add their own forms or clinical content or security policies etc... This module helps configure various parameters in each of the Charak Modules to enable the hospitals to quickly start using the system rather than waiting for the custom software to be built even for small variations in needs.

This module is designed to allow simple and consistent configuration of all Charak modules. This also comes with value added features like tools to do bulk configuration, configuration content editor, quick and easy transfer of the existing configuration details during upgrades or after testing

Patient Education

Offering patient education material delights the evolving health conscious consumer segment. The module together with clinical content module helps the doctor package the right set of information for every patient. This keeps patient delighted and at the same time the doctors do not need to spend lot of time in building these material

Medical Device Interfaces

A large amount of diagnosis, treatment & monitoring is dependent on data collected from medical devices. This module makes sure that all these data are transferred electronically to your office or to your mobile device when you are on the move. So, you could now monitor the vital signs of your patient on your laptop, smart phone or Pocket PC. There is no need to reach patients bedside every time and loose on vital time in taking care of the patient

Lab information system (LIS)

An ancillary module/system which handles receiving, processing and storing information generated by medical laboratory processes. These systems often must interface with instruments and clinical information systems. Disciplines of laboratory science supported by LIS' include hematology, chemistry, immunology, blood bank (Donor and Transfusion Management), surgical pathology, anatomical pathology, flow cytometry and microbiology

Pharmacy

This is a departmental module that integrates well with CPOE. It takes care that right level of inventory is maintained in your inventory and the related information is available to physicians/nurses who are writing orders. It helps hospitals reach a level where they can fulfill all medication orders within the hospital pharmacy. The module also helps pharmacy in tracking the about to expire drugs which when returned to the manufacturer in time can save lot of money to the hospital.

Patient History

This module makes available the sum of all patient data that gets collected over multiple visits of the patient. They would include all relevant data from family history to personal history including past/on-going treatment, medication etc. All this data is available on care providers’ finger tips and can be easily shared as needed.

Prescription

Once the diagnosis and medication are finalized by the clinicians, the prescriptions can be printed in pre-configured formats. Considering that more than 75% of patients have similar prognosis and may need very similar prescriptions, this module gives the physician an ability to write the basic medication and lab orders with minimal repetitive activities

Follow Up

A module that comes in to being after patient has been discharged from the hospital. This helps the doctor keep track of post discharge treatment and the hospital can send reminder (if patients opt for it) to patients for any follow up care.

Printing & Reporting

This module contains several pre - configured templates that can be used for printing & reporting the transactional & management data respectively. The module also provides the end user the capability to set up their own template or ask Asclepius to set up the template for them even after the system is in production

Patient Monitoring

This module is a collation of multiple functionalities. It helps the users in clinical review which can include different assessments like functional capacity, fluid status, cardiac rhythm and laboratory assessment. This also includes review of management plan (including medication). The users can also monitor different concentration levels as needed. The module extends itself in to remote monitoring and patient self monitoring.
